POLYFIT
PolyFit was written because I found it impossible to find an easy online capability for doing polynomial curve fitting, and specifically fitting two independent variables (i.e., families of data points). PolyFit is very easy to use. PolyFit can fit polynomial functions to linear, quadratic, cubic, or exponential data using the form Y = f(X), and it can also fit a family of curves using the form Y = f(X,Z). For example: if you wanted to fit data on vehicle fuel consumption vs. both speed and gasoline ethanol content, you would define vehicle fuel consumption as Y, speed as X, and gasoline ethanol content as Z. PolyFit could then fit a single quadratic or cubic polynomial to this family of data, permitting you to use a single equation to calculate fuel consumption as a function of vehicle speed and gasoline ethanol content. PolyFit also allows you to enter estimated errors in the Y values, either as standard deviations or as coefficients of variation. If you have done a fit and you find that a region of your fit-space has uncomfortably large errors, you can repeatedly enter the data values in this region multiple times. This will reduce the errors in this region by shifting them and spreading them out in less important regions of your fit-space.
PolyFit reads data from an EXCEL file and returns the results to an EXCEL file using cut and paste from the application.
PolyFit can be downloaded to your PC either as a Mac or as a Windows application. PolyFit output also provides a comprehensive set of goodness-of-fit parameters.
RADCOMP
RadComp was developed by a radiological physicist for radiological physicists for the accurate determination of free-air entrance exposures and average-glandular-doses in mammography for a wide range of radiological exams. RadComp enables the following parameters to be accurately and quickly determined for all radiological exams other than CT:

RADCOMP
RadComp was developed by a radiological physicist for radiological physicists for the accurate determination of free-air entrance exposures and average-glandular-doses in mammography for a wide range of radiological exams. RadComp enables the following parameters to be accurately and quickly determined for all radiological exams other than CT:
- Free-air entrance exposures (FAE’s) or free-air air-KERMA's (FAK's) for all radiographic or fluoroscopic exams (but not CT)
- Free-air entrance exposures or free-air air-KERMA's and average-glandular-doses (AGD's) for mammography exams using a molybdenum target Such information is important for the following reasons:
- It allows exposure comparisons to be made among x-ray machines within an institution
- It allows exposure comparisons to be made among x-ray machines in different institutions
- It allows comparisons of an institution’s exposures with Federal, State, or independent exposure guidelines or standards (e.g., N.E.X.T., C.C.D.R.D., etc.)
- FAEs are always required as input data to existing commercially available computer programs which calculate organ doses, fetal doses, and effective doses (e.g., EXODOSE, CDRH programs, etc.)
- conventional (over-table) radiography
- under-table “spot” radiography
- computed radiography (CR)
- digital radiography (DR)
- under or over-table fluoroscopy
- C-arm fluoroscopy
- cinefluorography (e.g., cardiac)
- cut-film and digital-subtraction angiography
- screen-film mammography
- digital mammography (DM)
